Police Search For Burglary Suspect

Jackson police were searching for a 17-year-old boy in connection with the burglary of a home. Police said Keegan Brown, 17, is wanted in connection with the house burglary, as well as other felony charges. A concerned citizen called police when she saw teens leaving a house in the 3700 block Fleetwood Drive in south Jackson, police said. "It's dangerous you are afraid for your life and your property because of things in the community," said Sholanda Stewart. When police arrived, they chased Brown on foot. Brown actually ran out of his shoes and shed his shirt, but got away, police said. Police did catch two juvenile girls who were with him, officials said. Police said that the girls led officers to the 1000 block of Deryll Street, where police said Brown lives. He wasn't home, but next door police recognized a blue Suburban. Police said it belongs to Aaron Harris, 24, who was also wanted in connection with the house burglary. "It's just a social thing. When you talk to them and interview them you pretty much hear the same thing. We were bored and we wanted to hit a lick," said Lt. Jeffery Scott with the Jackson Police Department. Scott said in Jackson the typical house burglar is between the ages of 14 and 21 years old. "The sad part about it is these kids when you run up on them. They are not hurting for anything. They come from decent families," said Scott. Police said Brown is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slim build. He is a black male with a medium complexion and was last seen wearing a black stocking cap.

Police: Same Man May Have Robbed 2 Women

Jackson police said Wednesday the same man may have robbed of two different women inside their homes. The first incident happened on April 22 at a home in the 1400 block of Roberts Drive, police said. A 35-year-old woman was inside the laundry room at her home when a man walked into her kitchen through the carport, police said. The man was armed with a club or a pipe and he demanded money and jewelry. He escaped with a platinum watch and a gold wedding band, police said. The next robbery was reported on May 27 by a 24-year-old woman. The woman was at her home in the 2000 block of Meadowbrook Road when a man knocked on the door, said he was having car trouble and asked to use the phone. The woman refused to let him in, police said. "He raised up the pipe and busted out the window," the woman's husband told 16 WAPT News. "He tried to unlock the deadbolt but we use a key for both sides, so he couldn't. My wife was very scared. He kicked in the door and broke it off the frame and came in the house with the lead pipe and asked her for the money." The man took $30 in cash, along with the woman’s wedding band, engagement ring and another ring, police said. Lt. Jeffery Scott said the woman did the right thing by giving the man what he asked for. "I hate to say it, but comply. We can replace those things. We can't replace your life," Scott said. Police said the man is described as black, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and heavy-set. They believe that he is 25 years old.
